The City of Dodge City is accepting applications for a Full-Time Sanitation Maintenance Worker in the Public Works Dept. 

This position performs manual labor with loading all types of refuse collection, including chasing trash trucks, dumping containers, and picking up a variety of refuse.  Work also includes maintaining trash trucks, trash karts and dumpsters, record keeping, working at the recycling center, running the street sweeper, and other duties as assigned in the Public Works Department.

The starting salary for this position is $14.62 per hour, DOQ.  Positions include full benefits package, including health and dental insurance, KPERS retirement, vacation, sick leave and holidays. Position works a minimum of 40 hours per week and is classified as non-exempt (hourly). 

This job requires physical work including lifting and manipulating up to 75 lbs and performing these duties in all types of weather.   A valid Kansas driver’s license is required with a good driving record and must obtain a Class B CDL with air-brake endorsement within 6 months of hire for all Public Works positions.  Position subject to random drug/alcohol testing after CDL is acquired.
